The solar industry may create demands for germanium that were unanticipated just a few years ago. Germanium, as a minor metal, is not found in large concentrations on the earths surface; but rather, is found from upgrading and refining of materials from primary smelting processes.
To serve the upcoming demand, Novotech has developed proprietary sources for germanium. We also have the technology to upgrade the materials, through several complicated processes, into its purest forms. These processes include:
Fractional Distillation
Reduction
Zone Refining
Crystal Growth
Wafer Shape and Polish
We currently offer:
Germanium Dioxide (GeO2) to the thin film solar market.
Metal chunk (5N-6N) sieved to various sizes (e.g. 3-12mm)
Polished wafers for the semiconductor and optics industries
Upcoming offering:
Solar grade wafers for the Space and Concentration Photovoltaic industries.
